Last week, exactly on 3rd
October 2015 GNOME Indonesia presented GNOME 3.18 Release Party at Crystal
Lotus Hotel, St. Magelang, Yogyakarta. This event was followed about 50
participants.
GNOME 3.18 Release Party was opened
by Elvanisa and Fitron as host at 2pm. At the beginning, Estu Fardani as GNOME
Foundation Member talked about GNOME Foundation and advantages by joining GNOME
Foundation. He told about his journey for joined GUADEC in Gothenburg, Swedia.
Continued by Pipin Irwandi as the chief of KPLI (Linux User Group Indonesia
regional Yogyakarta) introduced GNOME to newcomers. The next agenda was
continued by parallel class, first class was consisted by University Student
who used Open Source. This class was led by Sendy Aditya Suryana and Aji
Kisworo Mukti. Mr. Sendy as the chief of KSL KUSUKA (Linux Study Group - Sunan
Kalijaga Islamic State University of Yogyakarta) introduced new features of
GNOME 3.18 and Mr. Aji as BlankOn Linux
Researcher and Developer talked about KPLI between Contributors and Consumer.
The Second class was led by Siska Iskandar as Part of PASTI (Technology
Awareness of Women). Ms. Siska took a dip into FOSS (Free and Open Source
Software) with motherhood and housewives (Ibu-ibu PKK).
This party was escorted by Tomato
Juice Band that sang an acoustic song. GNOME 3.18 Release Party was symbolized
with Cutting Tumpeng by Mr. Estu Fardani. The first bribery for Ms. Siska as
the Team Event Coordinator. At the last of party, all of the participant took
photos together with balloons and party’s stuff.
This event was success because of
cooperation from many sides. Big thanks to GNOME Foundation, Crystal Lotus
Hotel, Kedaulatan Rakyat, KR Radio, Biznet, Fans Shoes, Merchandase, and TLabs
which had supported the party.
